I work with professional blenders. I would love to make the teas myself and often blend already made teas together, but I am not qualified to correctly blend teas and herbs together. Bottom line, I want a good tea and I do not want to hurt you! Here are some details about the quality and safety of our teas. The company that supplies the ingredients for my teas was the first North American member of the Ethical Tea Partnership, an organization that monitors and regulates living and working conditions on tea estates around the world. For more visit www.ethicalteapartnership.org. ETP has formed alliances with Rain Forest Alliance and Fairtrade organization.
C-TPAT - as detailed by the US Department of Homeland Security my supplier adheres closely to C-TPAT policies as outlined by US Customs and Border Protection. This includes hazard analysis testing, screening of all suppliers, employee background checks and more. (Gold standard on each annual re-certification since 2005)
The FSSC 22000 system was designed to provide companies in the food industry with an ISO- based food safety management system that is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). The FSSC 22000 scheme defines requirements for integrated processes that work together to control and minimize food safety hazards. Our compliance is warranted by yearly audits.
My tea supplier is a Certified Organic Food Handler and Tea Supplier. All of our organic products are certified 100% organic and are grown without conventional pesticides, petroleum-based fertilizers or sewage-sludge based fertilizers. In strict accordance with NOP/CO/EU guidelines, organic tea products never come in contact with non-organic teas or any other prohibited substances. NOP/CO/EU certification is extremely rigorous but with it, when the product states Organic, you know it's organic! Status within the program is audited annually.
